When looking to be in a relationship, is the other person being a practicing/faithful Muslim an automatic deal breaker for you?

Most likely.

The chances of them being liberal enough seem even less than a christian. But I feel a lot more sorry for Muslim women, as they often get a double dose of brow beating.

No. If she's liberal enough to date an atheist, I'm tolerant enough to date a Muslim.

Funny story only slightly apropos, I've been offered arranged marriages to Muslim women twice. The first was in 1990 when one of my sister's Saudi neighbors wanted me to marry his 16-year-old daughter. The second was in 2005, when a refugee offered to arrange for her daughter to marry me, in six years when she turned 18. I like to think I handled those offers with sufficient diplomacy that no one's feelings were hurt. I'm pretty sure the 12-year-old was grateful. :-)

Correction: It was the Saudi guy's sister, not his daughter. That would be weird.

Fuck no. I think these threads just prove that most people on these forums are lonely or horny enough to date pretty much any willing woman.
