It all boils down to one simple idea.

Belief is warranted when sufficient evidence can be presented and not before.

Religion starts with a belief and has spent thousands of years trying to find sufficient evidence to warrant that belief.
And failed

It's unwise to start with a conclusion and then try to work your way back.

It's better to observe the world, gather evidence and then arrive at conclusions based on the evidence.
