There's a differnece between being deranged and being a psycopath. Psychopathy means the inability to feel emotions towards others, among other things. Think he has kids and is probably married. Are you sure he is clinically a psycopath, or just a bad person? And how do you define bad person? You mentioned he censors people - So does every other country ever, the difference is that in the west instead of being arrested you will be fired from your job.

That's sociopathy...
Not that he isn't a sociopath, mind. Just saying.

If Putin survives the current recession, and continues the turnaround his country has seen from where it was after the soviet union shattered...
He'd be very applicable for a 'The Great' title in a few decades. Look at Russian history... he is not abnormal for Russia. Quite the opposite.
He is a great Russian politician. He does what people want him to do. People are inclined to LIKE when people do what they want them to do.

OK, I like the shark one, but I'm thinking in real life, Putie is a greasy pig bottom.
Probably has to wear a male chastity device at his masters command when he's out doing official functions too.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

So how much more do I need to know to believe Putin is an absolute Tyrant? My younger brother is very informed, he reads a ton of news, he could argue about foreign politics and tell you about his favorite economist. He fucking says Putin is a good leader, I see people on facebook saying Putin has done great things for Russia. What the fuck? I guess that's not enough dirt on a guy to make him an awful person.
I've heard him called a thug and a gangster from a few people.

Whether or not your brother is correct could depend on what he means by good leader. When he says good does he mean effective? Few would argue that Qin Shi Huang or Genghis Khan weren't effective leaders, but I doubt many would argue they would meet today's standard for a moral person. The same type of case could be made for Putin. Morality aside one could argue that he has been an effective leader. Someone could counter that argument with decisions made by Putin have influenced the current shitty state of the Russian economy.

You seem to be implying that morality is subjective to the cultural standard of morality. Morality is objective, based on how fair the standards are for treating others. This is one of the things that religious people will say, which is morality is cultural. It's not.
