Well the reality is that nothing at all matters; but with regards to how I feel about other idiots in the world, knowing I'm not one of them gives me a serious dose of intellectual superiority and that satisfies my ego enough not to give a toot.

No. I will vote to send you to the gas chambers any minute now.
What the figurative fuck...

I believe in God, and if anyone has a problem with it they can suck my vajay.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Pretty much...unless you have evidence that those fairy tales are real which I strongly doubt.

So here's where you seem to be confused about things, or at least misleading in how you present your take on the matter at hand. Your own well-being matters to you, therefore things do matter. Mayhaps not in a universal way, for the purpose of this conversation, but on a lesser, human scale, things do matter. Surely, you hold that to be the case?

I cope with it by joining a message board and talking about it amongst like-minded people. I realize that if you grow up hearing something over and over again, especially if the elders will badger you into agreeing with them (or worse), then you're going to start believing it. No matter how silly or easily refuted that belief is. Humans are superstitious, and don't like change, so it's hard to cast aside outdated beliefs.

I conveniently have a problem with your belief in god.

I was implying you were being an idiot yourself because of your unsophisticated response.
