No, Atheism isn't a Religion

You know, I'd need to hear your definition of a religion but from my experience people who claim Atheism is a religion modify their definition of a religion intentionally to fit Atheism in. They also end up with a definition so broad that basically any belief, negative or positive, about the supernatural becomes 'a religion.' When something's definition becomes so broad that it includes everything, that definition becomes worthless.

For me a religion needs at least some of the trappings of a religion, like clergy, temples, etc.

Lol I was joking.

But Dr Fuzz, I do agree with what you said.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Going by the definition of religion being something like: an organized collection of beliefs that aim to explain the origin of life or the Universe. Then, the various sciences can be said to be religions; perhaps of the atheist variety.

Regardless of your definition, theism is not a religion; Catholicism, for example, is.  Atheism is not a religion for the same reason.

Now we've been busted, there's no point anymore in hiding all the human sacrifices. Might as well round up the xtians en masse instead of picking them off one by one, like we normally do.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
