I think the most positive lesson to be learned from the story of Christ, especially the crucifixion part, is that when humans work together, they can accomplish quite a lot, like - say - f*** an immortal deity right up. Jews and Romans sent god packing and he hasn't dared to come back in 2000 years. Well done.

The Holy Spirit is eternal and indwells in many. More daily. The will of God in no way has ever, nor will ever be averted by greed of man or his selfish will or any other thing for that matter.
