Same kind of "logic" (not really) that feeds Pascal's Wager.
First off, there is no medical evidence of returning from Brain Death.
Yesterday, I took the liberty of reviewing the Terri Schiavo case (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terri_Schiavo_case). She was held to be in a Persistent Vegetative State (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persistent...tive_state). A Persistent Vegetative State is a form of partial arousal and not close to true awareness.
The autopsy showed no chance of recovery. Here is a CAT scan of her brain prior to death:
Please note that the black voids are empty spaces filled by CNS fluid, the white dot in the right void is a thalamic stimulator (ineffective as it requires some neuronal matter to work with).
In other words, there could not be a human mind there. No person. Not one bit.
The autopsy, in their own words stated (
http://www.abstractappeal.com/schiavo/autopsyreport.pdf)
Quote:Mrs. Schiavo's brain showed marked global anoxic-ischemic encephalopathy resulting in massive cerebral atrophy. Her brain weight was approximately half of the expected weight. Of particular importance was the hypoxic damage and neuronal loss in her occipital lobes, which indicates cortical blindness. Her remaining brain regions also show severe hypoxic injury and neuronal atrophy/loss. No areas of recent or remote traumatic injury were found.
You may find that block on page 35, section 6.
Jahi is
declared brain dead, which is far worse than Persistent Vegetative State.
Unless there is a consistent and plausible explanation that shows a misdiagnosis of an incredible degree, Jahi has no chance of coming back.
Quit relying on faith and look at the science. I've picked an example of a woman in a Persistent Vegetative State (not brain dead) and showed that that "higher" level of completeness has little bearing on the recoverability. If anything, it shows that a Persistent Vegetative State is the closest to brain death anyone may have ever returned from, provided there is sufficient brain mass to allow for function and repair.
Jahi is brain dead. Below PVS.
To recap,
She's Dead Jim.
