King adaptations are such a letdown, for the most part.

The only shitty movie I have seen is Ghosts of Mars.

NOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Yes there is. But as a renowned movie critic remarked, it accomplishes "exactly the sort of clever subversion of genre tropes that the franchise needed."

Meh, fuck 'em both.

Err...Dreamcatcher, I think. Long, loud, recycled boringness.
At least Secret Window made laugh. Borderline hilarious.

Even the shit weasel wasn't put on film very well.

This looks like a pretty diluted sequel to the original Reproduction Grease.
I am John Cena's hip-hop album.

They always were for me, even when I was reading King books, but trust me "Langoliers" broke fresh ground in bad (laughably). The best King screen adaptation was hands-down "The Shining", and when I saw it after reading the book I was disgusted.

I think the appeal of King, who rarely resorts to overplaying the gore in describing the deaths of his characters, is mostly the psychological subtext in his storytelling style - this is not something which can be easily portrayed by most film people, especially those who are low enough to shoot horror flicks.
Mr. Hanky loves you!

Stephen King adaptations are terrible except for when they're timeless classics.

I remember being watching The Langoliers and being disgusted. I shouild've known that Balki from Perfect Strangers being in it, wasn't a good sign.

Have you ever seen the 1997 ABC miniseries adaptation of The Shining? It actually wasn't too bad; much better than Kubrick's rendition, anyhow. The original story being a metaphor for the effects of alcoholism on a family unit was very apparent in the '97 remake. Jack Torrence actually wields a croquet mallet as he does in the book, btw.

I would say Syfy Channel's 2009 Children of the Corn was a pretty good adaptation, as well. It somehow manages to capture the creepiness/sense of dread of the original short to a fair degree.

It was the biggest disappointment ever, though. Tragic.
