Arch. I used every distribution type there is.
Debian-based are meh because of apt. And I despise Ubuntu and Mint because of their policies. Fedora-based are okay but for some reason they boot very slowly on my computer (almost like two minutes). Gentoo-based... I don't honestly have much time for compiling shit from source. Slackware is good but it's not comfy. You have to resolve dependencies all by yourself (which is both good and bad thing) Manjaro is awesome if you're new, but I gave up on them when they didn't update their SSL certificate, so I just installed plain Arch. Best decision I have ever made in my life. Once you configure it properly it's most comfy distro there is.
Debian.
Mint, and Ubuntu before that until the Unity era.
Prior to that, I rolled my own from source to get full-disk encryption before any of the major players offered it. What a pain in the ass. Before that, Gentoo. Even earlier I dabbled in Red Hat, Fedora, Slackware, etc. I used BSD for years in between Fedora 3 and Ubuntu. Frankly, I don't care for the direction the major distros are taking and am seriously considering going back to BSD.
I haven't any favourite distro because I can't test these all.

I'm also thinking installing BSD next to my Arch but it won't let me install it on logical partition and when I try to install it on primary partition it shows me partition size of 192TB which I can't change and if I click on install I get I/O error. So yeah, no BSD for me. |
