Christians -are- a bigger threat to the US than Muslims, if for no other reason than demographics.  We have short memories, but if you wanted to calculate all the terrorist attacks on american soil...and the more mundane breaches of safety or security that many of us fall victim to..you will find that the perpetrators are and have always been overwhelmingly christian.

It's difficult, in this country, to find a muslim behaving badly. It's trivially easy to find a christian behaving badly.

I sense a bit of manipulation here. The article is ambiguous (deliberately?).

"Of those people who are lefthanded, 50% are democrats" is completely different from "50% of democrats are lefthanded"

I read the article twice and could not find a resolution to this.

I do find that Christians are a greater threat to my freedoms and rights than Muslims.

Yes-Islamic terrorism is a real thing, but I do not believe that there is any real existential threat to our country from any Islamic country or caliphate.

These theocratic demagogues, however, are a very real threat to me.

The so called Muslim threat to the US is nothing more than the equivalent of a modest uptick in domestic violent crime rate, and having the fact that we scored several own goals in the international arena brought into sharper relief.

The Christian threat is to the very fabric of secular society, the nature of the republic, and general progress of science.

So damned right the Christian threat greater.

Yeah, christians are definitely the bigger threat inasmuch as if someone, tomorrow, does something that negatively affects me, it's a lot more likely they're a christian than a muslim, seeing as my town has about 38,000 christians and, what, 500 muslims?

More specifically, the political power in this country is 99% in the hands of christians. I occasionally mention to people who are like "I wouldn't want to go to a big city because there might be a terrorist attack" that they're about 5,000x more likely to die in the car ride on the way there. Similarly, I would suggest to anyone who's worried about a muslim shooting them that it's about 50,000x more likely a christian is going to try to use political power to harm them. Now, obviously, dying is, ahem, a touch worse than being told you have to wait longer for an abortion or that you can't get married. But people are really bad at multiplying [magnitude of harm]x[probability of harm], focusing almost entirely on the first one.

So, yeah, I think the article is misleading, and doesn't really say much, but I agree with the premise that, in my current situation, right now, as a 26-year-old white male american atheist, christianity is a bigger threat to me than islam. As others have said above, that's almost entirely demographics.

Yes it does. I'd suggest you look at the history of the explosion of religiously based hate groups since Obama's first election.

1,600 known hate groups with 100s of thousands if not more members. 

I certainly fear more our Christian right wing and gun worshipers more than any Mexican or Muslim immigrant or refugee. Now if I lived in the Middle East or Mexico where violence is rampant for whatever reason, then I'd be in fear of that too.

But ratio wise we have more to fear from people living here than we do from people that don't live here, regardless of race or religion.

Now, what is the solution? Instead of giving violent people a cause, or trying to separate humans by labels like "mentally ill, politically motivated, religiously motivated" maybe we should look at it as angst, and lack of economic opportunity, combined with those things and easy access to weapons.

I'll say this in a country that is majority christian and slowly dying not to mention
we don't have a good form of gun control and our media is well not good. So all in all i'll say yes.
We are more of a threat to our selves than some outside party is.

Hm. The ones who think so have a point, though I would point out the threat isn't Christians per se but Christianists. Just as the threat from Islam is from Islamists. The constant attempts by Christianists to get our government to endorse or promote their religion is a constant, nagging undermining of one of our most important values; and arguably separation of religion and state is part of the reason that the USA is the most religious developed country, though economic insecurity certainly plays a bigger role. The Dominionists want to outright take over the country, with some partial success reflected in the GOP becoming a branch of the Christian Right, and they have stated their intent to bring back stoning as a punishment for adultery.

However, in the long run, they'll fail. The GOP is fatally split, though it doesn't seem to know it yet. It won't survive as a viable Party if it doesn't jettison its extreme social conservatives. The Dominionists will never actually take over. Christianists in general are a pain in the ass, and would destroy what makes this country great if they could, but they're losing power as fast as they're losing their youth.

Some Islamists, on the other hand, would nuke us if they could. There's at least a small chance that some group will successfully get a nuke into a US city or otherwise manage a feat of terrorism that would kill many more people than we lost on 9/11.

It's a certain small and continuing, mostly bloodless attack on our values vs. a small chance of a successful devastating attack on our lives and property.

50% sounds about right.
