Fortunately, I may get out of inpatient tomorrow or the next day and I'll enter the IOP (intensive outpatient program).

Let me clarify what I mean by that. It's in the context of personal, staff, and other patients' safety. There's certain rules to abide by so that everyone is and feels safe.

Confinement is a measure of last resort.

In my personal experience, I was not subject to restraints except when I physically assaulted someone else and gave a credible threat of self-harm.

It is not often used. In the week I have been here, it has not been used on anyone. In my previous hospitalizations, I have never seen it used inappropriately.

That's not to say it doesn't happen. I've never seen it though.

Oh, yeah there's that. I'm not permitted to leave the ward at all, unless I discharge myself. I can't go outside.

I have been in facilities where I was allowed to leave for short periods without supervision once I attained some trust.

This facility is intended for very short stays so I don't think they have a process from that. I should ask. I'd love to get some fresh air.
