I hope the Discovery Channel keeps their word.

Yeah, I think they were trying to capture the reality TV audience, but they were shit at producing those shows. So they lost their smart audience and gained a fickle reality TV audience that left when they realized the shows were shit.

Might be that the pile wasn't aromatic enough for the flies to stay. RE: I hope the Discovery Channel keeps their word.

The megalodon fake documentaries were boring. That's an unforgivable sin even for trash tv.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

But I think they were trying to get on the "unscripted" reality shows like Pawn Stars, American Chopper, or American Restoration. Some of those shows were entertaining, if not informational at times. But in the end, the ones Discovery poduced were not as good as the ones History chose.

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
American Chopper unscripted? Well color me suspicious.
That's why the double quotes. Called unscripted, in reality anything but.

The History Channel is a damn disgrace. Even before its current programming nadir, it was little more than a military recruitment tool for several years. I have to believe that there is an audience hungry for substantive programming that features well made, thoughtful documentaries about history. It amazes me that they can't figure out how to tap that market. (January 3, 2016 at 6:04 pm)Crossless1 Wrote: The History Channel is a damn disgrace. Like the series with Olly Steed, who's an absolute numbnut. Discovering the secrets of history by interviewing the mralstoners of the world. My ass. You know, the Discovery as well as the History channel viewed with European eyes is a curious mixture of Goebbels programming and Soviet style Working Class Hero presentation. Sensationalist, militarist and know your place like. |
