That's an unfortunate loss. There's always hoping that God exists. A lot of people seem pretty convinced.

Yeah, no. Being poor was awesome.
Loved the being poor, felt so enlightened. Like I remember one time my parents couldn't afford electric or food for the night.

I agree with the OP.
Povery, if not embraced, can be perhaps the deepest kind of suffering. But it can also be a great training ground for self-discipline and a healthy philosophical outlook that brings one to a clarity of thought that is all but impossible for those with the many distractions of a luxurious lifestyle.
I'd like to point out, though, that it's perfectly possible to have billions of dollars but wear old clothes and spend your days sitting on a park bench feeding the birds. So I don't think it's the lack of money that brings peace, but the conquering of the animal instincts for hedonism and interest with a constant intellectual and philosophical vigilance.

Well go on then, show me how much better you would be at being dead than me! In all seriousness. There is a huge difference between pay scale and pay gap, which is an issue, and poverty as religion enables. I do not hate all wealth, nobody should hate all wealth. I do hate however abuse of power. I will not apologize, for example for having less and being financially supported. But poverty is very harmful globally. Simple understanding of evolution in all life shows us that when an ecosystem is lopsided the ecosystem will crash. When it is balanced there is still diversity but that balance keeps the ecosystem in check and far less likely to crash.
Globally worldwide, we need to foster better wages, better workers rights. When humans have the basics and don't have to worry where their food and shelter will come from, they are less likely to get to the point of civil strife.
I think it is up to all the world's uber billionaires whom have the power, to face this.

Look, I didn't mean that all those poor people were well off.
I meant that those who choose poverty can have great wisdom.
Although it is better to not have depenedents when you make the choice, I agree!
