Our Lady of Fatima?
#21
RE: Our Lady of Fatima?
Ah... rural Portugal in the early 20th century.... such an advanced place it was that kids couldn't be deceived.

Also, the claims is that the sun wobbled a bit.
The place where the people supposedly saw the sun wobble is called "Cova da Iria"... Cova means "hole in the ground", the whole place is like a huge bowl.
It was raining, then it stopped and the May sun shone like it always does. wet ground makes a good reflector, thus heating up the air just above the bowl, like a parabolic antenna. The surrounding air was still cool from the rain, so you get an atmospheric lensing effect only visible from that hole.
The fact is that nowhere else on the whole side of the planet that had the sun shining... nowhere else are there any reports of a wobbling sun. That alone should tell you something.

Everything else is scam on top of taking advantage of little kids.

Also ask yourself are their any NT examples of Angels/mary/whomever show boating like this (the answer is no) Now move over to Islam and ask yourself the same question, and you will find the answer to be yes. A strong yes. In fact if not for these types of signs and wonders Islam would not be a religion.

The point? 'signs and wonders' are a powerful testament to whom ever wields them, but at the same time the true test comes in what the performer of said signs and wonders is measured up against, what the bible has to say. Is their message consistent with the message of the bible or do they teach a 'new doctrine' Christ Himself warns us about? Does the messenger bring us closer to the God of the bible or does he seek to change or redirect our focus to someone/thing else as with the case of Islam?

(In this instance, the sign/wonder and the message of marry is lifted up first, then the experience is beheld, finally credit trickles back to God.) Which again follows the pattern of how Islam looks to the prophet, then his angelic experience then it all trickles back to God. Here Marry is the prophet, then the angelic experience then God.

Sorry fellow Christian I have to disagree on the bolded part.

What of the transfiguration, when Christ rose to the heavens (briefly) to be adored by Moses and (I think it was?) Elijah?

What of the road to Emmaeus, Pentecost, or resurrected Jesus appearing before the disciples?

And who can forget the annunciation of the Angel Gabriel to Mary? Rolleyes

I am certain there are other examples Wink
