Jesus christ aractus......I don;t even care why you think there was a james, why do you think that comment about james would be remotely relevant to my comments?
You are refering to the coherence of a collection of stories chosen for their coherence and compatibility out of a candidate pool as though it were indicative of something -other- than their being chosen by those metrics. Yes, this is the story we tell. Now tell me why you think that -x- portion of it is true, historically? Because this is the story we tell....?

James is the most independent of all the texts in the NT. It's the most primitive it's written before the Christian doctrines were in any recognisable way distinct from Judaism.
And it doesn't contain any supernatural events.

That's nice? Is that why you think that james is historically true? Within james lies the core of some historical personages and events around which the larger narrative, legendary and mythical, is built?

James isn't a narrative. Christ Rhythm at least educate yourself.

It isn't? Question begging goodness. Here I thought that this was -exactly- what I was discussing. What should I educate myself on then? Is james the place you would look to find historical persons or events?

You clearly have no idea of the composition of the texts in the bible. James is not a fucking narrative so why would it be "made up"? It contains instructions from James to other Christians.

Are you ever going to get around to taking advantage of the opportunity to educate me as to what in james is, to you, historical - or a candidate for historical, and why?
As to what is or is not narrative, perhaps you're simply unfamiliar with this tradition in settings other than christianity. Have a look at the Havamal. It's a list of "this is a good idea that's a bad idea" -instructions- framed within the norse narrative and presented by odin, as is claimed in the text of the narrative....
Unless...you think that's not narration, or narrative....perhaps you think that odin actually composed the havamal, and all of the references within the havamal to the norse myths are historical in the same way that all of the references to the jesus legend/myth in james are historical -provided that those references aren't the supernatural ones?
Would you like to go through james line by line and check for the supernatural with me? You claimed the supernatural events where not contained...I'm having trouble seeing why you would say that.
