U.S. Presidents & The Natural-born-citizen Clause
RE: U.S. Presidents & The Natural-born-citizen Clause
So if Kim Jong Ill allows one of his few friends to visit the US, and his wife has a baby while here, this makes a natural-born US citizen. What a great idea this jus-soli idea is!

Theorectically a person is a natural born citizen if his parents are citizens and if he was born on US territory. So anchor babies are not natural born citizens.

They are, actually.  So very much so that bigots all over the country have, for some time now, been proposing bills and even constitutional amendments in opposition to it.

@Mr Hanky. Well, at least we have one degree of seperation from the evil korean anchor baby manchurian candidate parent. Better than handing daddy the keys, I think. Give that kid 35 years, is it..in america, see how it turns out. Wink

In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I know that isn't what I was taught in school a few decades ago, so has it all changed? I cannot honestly justify denying citizenship to one who is born, raised and educated in New York, just because his parents never bothered to naturalize.

It hasn't changed...but not for lack of people trying.

I would like to consider myself not a bigot, but I feel there could be at least one reasonable measure to protect us from a KGB-style scenario (I know that program failed, but then I shudder to think what it may have done). Anyway, to placate the ignorant public it would be reasonable to require those with dual citizenship to renounce allegiance to foreign nations.

I didn't say that the person isn't a citizen.  I said that he wasn't a natural born citizen.  This idea had very deep historical roots.  During Spanish times pregnant Spanish women went back to Spain to have their babies if they were able so that the children would be considered fully Spanish.

This is a list of some of the past and current foreign agents in our government.

You can bet they don't have our national interests as a priority.

Making the jump from foreign "citizen" to "agent" is consistent with the tinfoil hat intelligence typically displayed by you around here.

By the way, that renunciation of foreign allegiance should have applied only to those seeking the office of US President, or any other position which involves national security clearance.

So you don't think it applies to Congress Critters or to the Secretary of State like Henry Kissenger or to people in the Defense Department???????????????  Seek mental health treatment today.
