I don't mind the blasphemy, but I fail to see how someone's weight or living arrangements has to do with a person being right or wrong.

Nothing, of course. What do greenish scales and/or huge teeth have to do with being right or wrong?

You have a tough time shaking him because he has been programmed into you since childhood.

Read up on history and science. Instead of religious heroes find secualr scientific ones: Abe Lincoln, Mark Twain, Albert Einstein and Neil de grasse Tyson amongst others.

You have to engage.. in deprogramming..

This is like meta trolling.

Quite the reverse. My childhood was almost devoid of religious indoctrination and as such the idea of theism was an irrelevance to me, till 9/11, when it became quite evident what suitably motivated theists could do to the world. That's when I woke up and saw the truth behind the curtain, belief in god leads people to irrational actions.

After reading the article, my questions are:

Why on God's green earth is the human brain wired for faith when our development is the result of purely evolutionary processes with no supreme being involved at all?

Is it possible that God gave us brains that are pre-wired for receptivity to His existence to make it easier for us to believe in Him?

Suprise, suprise. Athrock is trying to shit all over the rest of us, again.

Your source for that or is it just an opinion?

It's about focusing on what you want, not what you don't want. Whatever you focus on will manifest in some way or emotion, so it's best to stay positive, rather than focusing on what you don't want to influence your life. Kind of comes down to the confirmation bias.

Not that anyone will take this seriously, but I still remember the day my dad told me rake the leaves from the front lawn when I got home from school. I didn't want to, so started watching TV after school. I actually prayed which I don't normally do that I wouldn't have to rake the leaves. In the next 30 minutes the wind really picked up and blew all the leaves off the front lawn.

I'm not saying you can control the weather, but a positive attitude goes a long way to achieving your goals. You will be less likely to become discouraged and give up.

Considering that if the wind were blowing high enough to take them off your yard, the neighbours' leaves would simply have landed on yours. And every time the wind blows high in autumn or winter round here, leaves become more of a problem not less. So I'm calling bullshit on your little story right here.
