I was watching a discussion program couple of days ago and according to Doc. Dr. Kürşat Demirci(history of religions) there are several evidence that indicates jesus really existed. He didn't mentioned them spesifically though. They were talking about religions in general.
But it seems true that jesus is really existed. Although the whole story behind jesus is fabricated they could need some truth to build their story up. And that guy jesus, could be just another prophet in jewish history for they have many. And not the first one they killed. tough job, being a prophet you know..

Oddly, they never do. Wonder why that is?

Be fair, they do, but they're invariably lying or have little if any grasp of the notion of 'evidence'.
Unless something was discovered today about which I have not heard, at best there are suppositions and educated guesses, leading to various claims of probability.
Me? I don't know. All I'm willing to say is " Jesus the man or may not have existed. However, the Jesus of the bible is almost certainly myth."

They have the same "evidence" that the Greeks had for Zeus and the Aztecs for quetzlcoatl. But they think their boy is "different."

I do not believe that Jesus of the bible existed at all. I think that he is a fictional character in a fictional story. I don't know that for sure, obviously, but I have never been shown any reason to believe differently. Even after searching specifically for historical evidence of his existence, there is a decided lack of that very evidence. Sure, there are a few things that people can use to say, "Well... this could be evidence"... but there is nothing decisive, which is quite surprising if Jesus did, indeed, exist.
Perseus, Hercules, Jesus, Yoda... they are all the same. Stories.

Yoda is just a story?! oh, man and I was living my life like he was real. Let me guess the Force isn't real either? Well, I guess that would explain why I can't move things with my mind.

Yoda loves me, this I know
For George Lucas tells me so

Walks with cane, talks like frog
Yes, Yoda loves me
Yes, Yoda loves me

I've heard here and there of an existing person who is a historical jesus whose remains were discovered some years ago and there had been some stink raised about it. The religious folks claiming it was a hoax because he was supposed to have ascended into heaven upon his death and not leaving any earthly remains. He had been buried with his sibling(s), wife, and children (all at varying times, of course) with reference to parents named Joseph and Mary.
I'm not 100% sure of any of it being true (it's been a long time since this had been on television), but I can easily believe of a historical jewish carpenter's son named Jesus Christ who may have even been persecuted by the Romans for his faith. It's the bible's account of his life I would doubt - much in the same way as if someone wrote a document fifty years after my death accounting for my life where I could levitate, shoot lightning from my eyes, and I apparently claim to be the illegitimate son of Xenu and Hades.
Come to think of it, if that story could somehow involve riding a tamed cybernetic velociraptor from the future, I think that might be awesome.

I think you are referring to the James Ossuary which turned out to be a fraud perpetrated by one Oded Golan who is now on trial in Israel for forging antiquities and bilking the gullible ( and in this case the "gullible" includes the Israeli National Museum) out of a fortune.
The name Yaacov ("James") was as common in first century Judaea as Y'shua ( Iesou) or "Jesus" in Latin.
An actual ossuary with an actual inscription "James, son of Joseph" had the phrase "brother of Jesus" added to it which of course made the xtians wet their pants in anticipation. Israeli expert, Yuval Goren later concluded that the phrase "brother of Jesus" was the forgery and the forger had attempted to cover it so as to make it seem authentic.
Where the xtians got upset, after their underwear dried, was in the realization that there were other ossuaries in the so-called Talpiot Tomb ( which was exploited by known huckster, Simcha Jacobovici) which would be the wife and son of Jesus. That was too much for the xtians and they abandoned Jacobovici faster than an altar boy who shows up at a Vatican reception.

From what I've gathered, there seems to be some evidence to show there was a man called Jesus (it was a common name then) who was a carpenter. However, there is certainly no evidence to show that he was the son of God, or performed miracles.
