Is/Are your pet(s) right pawed or left pawed?
|
Emergency Auxiliary Back-up cat has a slight preference for left paw, I don't feel like torturing the other cat to find out if he has a preference. Mine is to start with his left rear, then right rear, left front, and then right front when I'm grinding claws off.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Special cats!
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Start when they are young. #1 was being buzzed down at 3 months. We didn't get #2 till he was over 10 mos old and he was way too freaked out for months after that.
Eventually, he experienced Stockholm Syndrome, and he has tolerated it it well enough for 5 years now. Actually, cat #1 is the more difficult one to do, he is down to 14 lbs from his peak of 27. He has acres of loose floppy skin and slick fur. If #2 encounters something really bad, like going to the vet, he just collapses and it's easy. #1 keeps working at escaping. I generally set him on the floor near food dish, (that has treats in it) and commence to grinding. He knows the sooner I'm happy with his pedicure the sooner he gets a snack. Glad I don't have to bribe the other cat, he really doesn't have any addictions I can exploit like #1. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
Ours don't mind the nail clippers that much. Just stand them on the grooming table and lift one foot at a time. With my wife's visual problems she sometimes gets bleeders. It's become mostly my chore.

Works well enough, and I can even round off the claw stump to really blunt any attacks that may be launched against my authoritay. I've also noticed, especially on cat #1, his claws do not all grow at the same rate. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
