Hillary is a Neocon Chickenhawk

Why didn't the Democratic Party do anything at all to inspire voters to show up? Why did they put forth a candidate who didn't repeat, over and over again, what a success Kynect was and vow to fight to maintain it? Why did neither of these make an effort to put out ads fighting the racist misconception of Obamacare that made it necessary to hide it behind a name like Kynect in the first place? I have very few compliments to pay Republicans, but they sure as hell know how to make voters turn out for every election. Why do we accept our party not doing that?

I blame voters only so much for being apathetic. Things in general will suck more under the idiot psychopath we have for governor now, but they already sucked pretty hard under the Democrat who was in office since 2007. The Party doesn't care about the voters it has here. It has basically written us off.

As long as we blame the voters, it gives the party a pass to keep fucking around and losing elections. It's probably going to happen in November, too, with a dreadfully vulnerable candidate most people don't like, who lacks charisma and is attempting to win the primary by using the media, personal connections and Wall Street money to disenfranchise progressives she can't win without in a general election. The message is going to be "At least she's not Trump", and it's going to be a losing message, just as "At least he's not Bevin" led to a landslide for Bevin.

What did I do? I held my nose and voted for the loser conservadem. I'm not doing it this year, when it can't possibly matter.

Good thing Margaret Sanger never said that.  I'm sure Republicans are still circulating that quote though in order to continue their attack on Planned Parenthood.  Especially after Texas of all places decided to charge the people who made the PP video, rather than planned parenthood themselves.

In any political contest (and the current one isn't particularly special), there may be no candidates of measures you want to vote for, but there are bound to be candidates or measures you want to vote against.  Doing so may not bring about the changes you want, but it makes it easier to sleep at night.

Do you want them to fill out the ballot for you too?  At some point, voters need to take responsibility for their failure to act.

Conservatives use that idiotic non-quote to kill two birds with one stone: Margaret Sanger (an exemplary human being if ever there was one) and Angela Davis (a conspiratorial wing nut if ever there was one). It's handy when you can attack birth control AND black people with the same lie. Saves time.

In all fairness, people have been creating Trump memes with fake quotes. These tactics may seem silly, but for many voters a random quote or two is all it takes to form a concrete opinion of someone.

I don't worry about war too much when voting for a candidate because, if Obama's flip-flop between 2008 and 2009 is any indicator, the decision to go to war is a serious matter above partisan politics. Ditto on most other talking points a candidate uses to rouse his or her base into angry mode.

At the moment, my main concerns are alternative energy and global warming. Hillary seems to be better than Trump on those issues, so I'll vote for her.

By inspire, I mean give us candidates that aren't patently full of shit and actually care about promoting progressive policies, rather than well-documented prevaricators who will do the GOP's job for them in the vain hope of gaining some of their votes in a general election.

Once this primary is over, Clinton is going to sound an awful lot less like Bernie Sanders because she won't need to worry about pandering to progressives anymore. She'll be free to support job-destroying free trade deals and talk about how we can't raise wages because it will hurt job creators, and won't have to pretend to support LGBT rights.

People who voted for Clinton will be responsible for President Trump in that unfortunate event. We've had to choose between a shit sandwich and a giant douche in many elections, but the shit sandwich is a lot harder to swallow knowing that we could have nominated someone much better, who polls far higher against the giant douche. We're going to get it good and hard regardless of who wins this November.

They didn't run this year.  The closest you got was Sanders whose campaign founders on the idea that you need money to pay for all the things he wants to do.  And he isn't getting it from Congress which pretty much leaves him up shit's creek sans paddle.

Look at the other side.  At one point they had 17 variants of asshole running and they have now whittled that down to 3.  They don't seem all that happy with their choices either.

Time to examine the system, I'd say.

Oregon will vote for whoever the Democrats nominate. I may write some one in. But in the highly unlikely event it looks close, I'll vote Hillary to avoid Trump.
