He was a successful leader who won battles regularly. He had a different approach to the Americans who went at things hell for leather and threw resources at problems but he was no slouch. I would argue that your view is coloured by the side of the atlantic you sit on.

Funny that the Western Allies failed to see that.  No.  Give Hitler his due.  He weeded out the old Prussian war horses and let the younger officers (Guderian, Rommel and, perhaps most of all Von Manstein) who had impressed him with their ideas have their head.  Manstein's initial plan for Fall Gelb was rejected by the staff officers but Hitler backed it.

You're right in the sense that Hitler detested much of the officer corps for their noble background, and was happy to support dark horses in high spots. Hitler was not, however, a big fan of Rommel's, given the latter's willingness to trade space for time, which is why he kept von Rundstedt in charge in France over Rommel in 1944, and compromised on their mutually-exclusive suggestions for panzer-division deployment -- thankfully for the Allied cause.

And eventually all three that you mentioned, and others as well, fell afoul of Hitler's wrath and were sacked -- or in Rommel's case, killed for involvement in the attentat.

What he later did in 1944 did not detract from his moves in 1940.  Those three...and many others...found themselves in the shitter as the army failed to magically pull off victory from an impossible military situation, first on the Eastern front and then everywhere else.

After we did so well in Iraq?  Iran has more than double the population of Iraq and they are not conveniently divided into ethnic groups who hate each other so we could play one off against the other.  Time to put your dreams of military glory on the side.

That helmet is WWI. Instead of jumping to simplistic conclusions, compare the british and the German one. The reason why many nations modelled their helmets after the German fashion is the better protection for the wearer. It covers the neck region too. If you look at the modern US army standard, it's basically the same design.

Well, we were in the midst of the economic war at the time. Fair's fair, though as soon as real war broke out in '39 we re-adopted the UK style uniforms, and while neutral the state passed on vital intelligence to the Allies, allowed Allied soldiers caught in Ireland to "escape" back to the north (without even having to whistle the "Great Escape" tune, and all!) and put no impediments on Irish citizens leaving the country to join the Allied war effort (tens of thousands fought for King Edward, and quite a few fought for the US too). Hell, we went so far as to get together with GHQ to formulate a plan to relocate the British armed and political leadership to Ireland if a German invasion had worked out (google Rathduff Airbase).

From the many stories that were involved with the Clintons, it's clear their life is a scam on the American people because they both had grandiose plans to rule the country. Everything they do is a calculated political move. The dogs after they left the white house mysteriously both died. They had the dogs just to present an image. Even Larry Nichols who used to work with both Bill and Hillary has a lot to say about the Clintons and their lies. The guy used to do a lot of black ops and has inside info on both of them, and their corrupt past. Hillary is a paid off liar who's made it her goal to rule. She is a psycho, and everything she does is a lie.
