Well hello atheist forums

For an introduction ill simply explain my situation and religious views.
I was brought up in a christian church, got baptized around six, went to vbs as a kid, etc. Now in my teen years i question the existence of a god whether it is a actual truth or just mythological pagan stories put together to help take control of nations. And to disprove the claim of an evil society making me this way i did not go to public school till highschool and started questioning the faith before then. I know i am in the minority of latinos who actually would come out and say that they are unsure of the existence of a god because latinos are either catholic or on the mainland protestants.

I wonder if a Portuguese counts as Latino... Latin derived language, check; slight dark tone of skin, Mediterranean style, check!

I also came around to question my Southern Baptist upbringing in my late teens. It's a very difficult thing to face, after so many years of indoctrination.
Most importantly, don't let anyone push you in either direction. Let the arguments speak for themselves. We're not here to "win converts", but to win arguments. If you find one side or another's arguments more logical, sound, and reasonable, then accept it to the degree you feel it has been proven-- and even then, remain skeptical. Skepticism is the mind's immune system.
And finally, WELCOME! Whatever road you choose, we hope you like it here.

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
