Is Windows 7 'only' Vista tweaked?

I have Windows 7 Ultimate. I absolutely love it. There are some things about 7 that I love so much, that now it bothers me when I use XP.

My main laptop runs 7, originally it was a vista computer. I had problems with Vista, but they vastly improved with 7. I adore 7's snap feature, the change of the quick launch icons to "Pin this program", the ability to search programs in the start menu (which also exists on Vista) and just in general the way it runs.

My work computer and netbook run XP, which for now is okay, except when I want to do something 7 does. I will always have a soft spot for the XP OS, but it was time to move onto something better, and 7 definitely is.

Even a hardcore Mac OS X and Linux user like me cannot deny that Windows 7 is epic. I wouldn't use it myself because I still favour the usability of OS X and the power of Linux, but it is perfect for people who don't know much about computers, or who simply don't care

Second that - it's a solid release to be sure.

Still Kubuntu destroys it.

Just a small addition to my post; I said I "wouldn't use it" but technically that is untrue. I have it installed on my MacBook in a small partition, and I access it through a Virtual Machine when I want to test stuff in the OS.
