Still don't think we need a wall?

RE: Still don't think we need a wall?
If they were effective, I'd be all in favour of a wall.

They're not. I'm not.

Just look at the tunnels used by drug smugglers for examples of determined people getting through.

It's a tragedy, yes. And the prick should be executed, but unless you're willing to put up with the cost of a wall 10s of feet high, that extends below ground, is permanently electrified with high levels of power, is under permanent surveillance by hundreds of devices, including cameras and drones, and the thousands of people needed to patrol it, then go ahead and put forward the proposal...

...and watch the boats go around the wall.

Determined people will make it, in large numbers. Look at the Vietnamese boat people...

A wall won't keep people out. It's not feasible to build one in any case. But even if it were, a wall isn't going to keep anyone determined enough from getting in.

Drones? Really, Dr. Carson? Are we murderers? Is it the Berlin wall you want?

Hey KUSA, unless you are 100% Native American Indian, shut the fuck up about a fucking wall. Your ancestors came over here and there was no wall to stop them.

On Wednesday morning, police reportedly found a previously deported Mexican illegal alien Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino in a puddle of mud, armed with a rifle, after the suspect reportedly murdered five Americans in Missouri.

Serrano-Vitorino allegedly murdered his first four victims with an AK-47, according to FOX4KC. Nearby schools were also put on lockdown, thanks to one murderous illegal alien who — allegedly — didn’t let deportation deter him from committing more crimes in America.
Be sure to put bars on your windows too. Unless you're dumb enough to believe that crime is only a problem when Mexicans or immigrants are the perpetrators.

That Carson dude is a joke.

How can anyone take him seriously?

Whoa there chief -no pun intended- are you suggesting people can't engage in conversation over immigration, illegal or otherwise, unless they're literally native to the country?

Not that I agree with KUSA and proponents of a wall, but that's not much better in terms of loony ideas.

How deep is that wall going to go? And who's going to pay for it?

Quote:SAN DIEGO (AP) — Authorities seized 12 tons of marijuana and arrested 22 people after discovering one of the longest cross-border tunnels between the U.S. and Mexico, officials said Thursday.

The passage connecting warehouses in San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico, was about 2,400 feet long and 30 feet deep. It was lit, ventilated and equipped with a rail system — hallmarks of the most sophisticated tunnels found along the border.

Near-simultaneous police stings on Wednesday resulted in six arrests in San Diego and 16 in Mexico. Authorities recovered two tons of marijuana in the U.S. and 10 tons in Mexico.

U.S. authorities said smugglers tried to move the first load of drugs through the tunnel on Wednesday but that nothing got through undetected.

The sting came after an undercover agent for U.S. Homeland Security Investigations agreed to provide the drug smugglers with drivers and use of a warehouse in exchange for a $10,000 payment for each truckload of drugs moved, according to a probable cause statement.

The discovery demonstrates the enduring appeal of tunnels to smugglers, despite the significant time and money required to build one. Dozens of tunnels have been found along the U.S.-Mexico border in recent years, some equipped with hydraulic lifts and electric rail cars.

I'm thinking they could move a lot of folks through a tunnel like that. Does Donnyboy have a plan for that?

He's an empty suit, mouthing positions that are untenable and hoping you won't do the homework to find the truth for yourself.

Clearly, his hopes are well-placed. There will be no wall paid-for by Mexico. We might see, as we do now, stretches of desert barricaded, but it won't be paid-for by Mexico, and it won't stop those bent on getting here.

It will need to be adequately guarded day and night all along its length to stop people blowing up bits of it and rushing through.

It will have to be a wall really deep to stop people tunnelling underneath it. And really high to stop people flying over it in planes. And of course it has to spread west and east across the Pacific and Atlantic to stop people using boats ... and submarines.

But then immigrants might not just be coming from Mexico so you need to instead build a wall along the borders of the USA. So no more beaches for you Americans! Baywatch can be remade as Wallwatch.

The 'peace walls' in Northern Ireland were impressively ineffective at keeping the peace. I don't expect that an immigration wall would fare much better.
