Good. You've presented your fantasy. Nobody knows what happens after death, so we'll see then. Have a nice next life.

Wrong again fuzzy.
Actually a lot of people know what happen after the physical death.

It really depends on what you mean by god... Your logic is valid insofar as the size AND hostility of the universe with respects to human life seems to contradict any notion that creation was primarily accomplished with human beings in mind. So, you have an argument for atheism to the extent that your idea of god entails such an anthropomorphic intention.

Precisely, Mudhammam.  I was referring to the generic xtian concept of a sky-daddy who created the earth and put humans on it. IF there is a creator (and that's a pretty huge "if" for me), this being is ever-so-much-bigger than the sky-daddy war-god redeemer watching over individual humans concept.

Oh good grief.  NDE's were beat to death in another thread recently.  Of COURSE you love that bit of woo as well.  Me, I'm going with science again.  NDE's are caused by dying receptors in the brain.  Doctors have replicated the NDE experience multiple times using ketamine.  Folks have studied it in detail.  http://www.koestler-parapsychology.psy.e...attNDE.pdf
And unlike some other very patient people on this forum, my bullshit/woo tolerance is rather low.  You have crossed into annoying.  Go pester somebody else.

Yeah but that only includes people who have the flimsiest idea of what "know" means.  And no, you don't know .. they don't know .. no one living knows what happens after physical death.  But I harbor the supposition that we return like compost to the biosphere (or get packed into little concrete boxes to postpone that event).  At that time, I assume, all the chemical, electrical and emergent phenomena supported by the brain will cease.

I suspect you suppose something else.  I suppose you think you know only you really know.  I don't really know but I reject your claims of swami-hood.

Exactly. This is why stating things as fact that you can't demonstrate to be (probably) true is pointless.

It is absolutely bizarre guys.
Few weeks ago some of you came up with the suggestion that i should read the most important study
done by Dr Parnia (an expert in the field of the brain-consciousness) so i would know that NDEs are all bullshit.
Well well, guess what.
I did read that report and guess what Dr Parnia said?
He said that there is not evidence that NDEs are real but at the same time he said that there is also no evidence that they are not real and conclude saying that more study need to be done.
Eh eh.  Smile

There can never be any evidence they're not real. Just more likely explanations. That doesn't make them probable, or even possible.

Good on you for reading it though. No evidence they are real: that's the important part. Beliefs should be based on evidence, if you care about what is real and what is not.

A lot of EX atheists thought the same thing until they had an NDE. Smile

All that shows is they are unable to critically examine their own experiences.

Also, afterlife and "God" are two seperate things. One can exist without the other.

My wife believes in afterlives, but not in God. As do many Buddhists.
