RE: The main reason I'm an atheist
Regardless of its etymology, the word atheism as it's currently used - and remember, dictionaries record usage of language, they don't define it - means "not theism". That's the definition I go with, as to me it's the most accurate summation of my position. A theist believes in gods, I am not a theist, I do not have a theist position. I am thus a-theist.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Right?

So let us stick to the original meaning.
Right.
Because the meaning, usage, and definitions of words never ever ever changes over time, right?

That is the very problem Lock.
If people would leave the original meaning alone we wouldn't have religions, hatred and many wars.
Religions are a cancer born out of the vandalization of spirituality.
Jesus, Buddha, Shiva, Krishna never teach religion in fact they were against dogma which religions are based upon.
But not only religions have vandalized pure and clean ideals.
A lot of other ideals have also been vandalized.
Arts, music and everything else.
Take the rock music, the metal music and all what our kids are listening these days.
All this are vandalized form of pure music.
That is why we should live the original meaning alone.  Lightbulb

You think that war happens because language changes over time?

Man, you're dumb.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

Well, yes.
In the 1300s 'awful' meant "full of awe", something good. Now it means something horrible.
It was that transition that caused the Hundred Years War. Dontcha know that?

Simply calling something 'vandalization' doesn't make it automatically bad. It's simply saying that a change which you don't like has occurred. You need an actual reason why the original is preferrable to the new. With music and words you don't have a good reason. All you are saying is 'Boo! I don't like that!' That's no more relevant to whether it's good or not than other personal opinions that you may have, such as your likes and dislikes.

Exactly that.
Plus, he says modern music "vandalized" the music before it. But that music also borrowed from the music before it. And that music borrowed from the music before it. Etc etc..

If you have to take something from the original then only take the good things and add something in the spirit of the original.
The original philosophy of the one who gave the 7 notes and introduced the real music was all about opening
the spirit within so to expand the consciousness.
Unfortunately today this meaning has been totally lost and the original has turned into junk which is just the opposite of what was intended.

Wrong again yog. Banging Head On Desk

Take a junkie.
You can be sure that he always will say that drugs are very good.
What is good or bad can not be judged by sick people but by expert and intelligent people
and you can be sure that intelligent people will never judge on like or dislike but they will judge
according to what is right or wrong. Lightbulb
