What scares me the most is that they'll do an "Enterprise" with it.
Don't turn it into days of our lives ... It's scifi for nerds ...keep it that way.

That's a horrifying prospect, but since it is not a series (yet) there's hope!

My ideal live-action Star Wars series would be an HBO series that follows the Knights of the Old Republic story

I do like the piano rendition of the Force theme in the trailer, giving it a sort of nostalgic tone. Plus the attention to detail in recreating the feel of classic Star Wars beats the midichlorians out of the Abrams version. I actually got a chill down my spine when the Death Star showed up. I also think the casting for Mon Mothma is particularly clever, being the actress who played the young character in the prequels and now the right age for the time period here.
Now my new hope is that the story lives up to the visuals.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

The piano rendition of the force theme was from finali of closing score of the force awakens.
I hope the felicity jones character would not turn out to be another Mary Sue character like Rey. I am hopeful because she appears not to be another character born with the force. After all any mystique around the force has been removed by the ease with which Rey picked up a light saber and beat the stuffing out of Ren.
But my hope is dispelled when felicity seem to be able to cause massive casualties amongst the emperor's best. Imperial troopers can only suffer massive losses at the hands of trivial adversaries for so long before the empire becomes a joke and Star Wars itself become a interminable bore.

Even though they were childrens' cartoons (and thus aimed at such an audience), I actually thought the Clone Wars TV series was pretty well done. I am not against the idea of a series, provided they give it the TLC that the SW universe deserves. Take that responsibility seriously, and we will take the series seriously.
I think the Rogue One film looks great, if (as has been said) it lives up to the visuals.
And I literally gasped aloud at how accurately they cast the Mon Mothma character.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
