An evolution of sexuality via religion

An evolution of sexuality via religion
If one truly studies the history of religion, it is obvious that sex and enjoying it progresses from being celebrated to being considered downright sinful.

Only the newly three Judeo-Christian religions truly frown upon any type of sex outside of a strict marriage.

Before monotheism took hold, sex was appreciated and practiced as a form of spiritual connection between two individuals that is rarely understood today.

When studying the history of religion, it is quite clear that the problems began when monotheism took hold.

Does this represent a shift towards using religion to control people? Was it less about that in the past?

I agree with Hugo and Jake that whatever started off Christinaity, Islam was founded for the purpose of control. The Quran reads like a mind control manual.

It does, sadly, represent man's evil ideal for controlling the masses under an easily susceptible construct, especially during a time when we were still quite young in understanding our world and what existed beyond our world.

Truth be told, before the Judeo-Christian movement, life was more peaceful, at least from what we can understand of culture at that time.

Well, there is room for questioning just how sinful some of the sex is considered to be . . .

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Did you read it? If so, compare it to the bible. Especially the OT. They're not that differently actually, which isn't surprising, considering the circumstances. Every religion, at it's most radical, is a means for mind control. You're a sinner and the only one offering redemptionn is us, with our direct line to god.

Invent the ailment, sell the cure. It's a good racket.
