Putting "In God We trust" on government vehicles

RE: Putting "In God We trust" on government vehicles
Worse than "In God We Trust" are police departments deliberately putting bible quotes on their police vehicles in a clear violation of the separation of church & state. These "persecuted" Christians seem to not care that they're establishing a religion in clear violation of the Constitution.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Yeah... must be the number of unarmed people they shoot and then lie about.  IF it weren't for video cameras they'd get away with all the time.

You have a thing with cops Min.  I do not. Cops always were polite to me even when arresting me. They asked if there was need for hadcuffs even. No need so I just took a cruise to the station. There, after alot of redtape, spent the night at their hotel ( I saw worse in payed hotels) they even give me a ride to the train station. I was restrained earlier, because alot of drugs and a friend OD'd in front of me, nothing like I see in American cop shows.

With all due respect, LastPoet, you have not seen the real "justice system" in America, then. There are some places where it's well done, and people are treated with respect. I'm unfamiliar with any of them, but I've seen them in books. But I did 9 years in the system, the first 2.5 of which were in jail torture isolation cells in the mental wing, in an attempt to break my spirit and get me to give them information they wanted, which they thought (incorrectly) that I had.

I have nothing against cops, per se, but to suggest that any fleabag motel on this planet is inferior to the hell-holes in which they stuck me, full of indescribable (or, at least, I refuse to) horrors and conditions that would make your skin crawl to witness is simply so misguided I lack the words to express how badly that's off the mark of what 99% of people experience, especially people they (the powers) dislike.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

We trust so much that.... we must write these words on the car or we'll get FUCKED.

Yup, this is total bullshit.

I actually have complete trust in God. I firmly believe he's going to do absolutely nothing at all possible opportunities.

Hmmmmm,

"In God we trust" emblazoned on an iron chariot ??

Quote:
And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

How the fuck is that going to work ??    Seems like reminding God of his limitations is going to piss him off, not that he could do anything about it, tee hee !!

If we really trusted in god, we wouldn't need police.

I might wonder too, if more Christers were doing their religion CORRECTLY, they wouldn't need all those little affirmations everywhere to carry them through the day because their FAITH would be working in them that they would be experiencing His 'whatever the fuck it is they are always going on about all the time' and wouldn't need all the piffle and dreck too to make them feel like it's working.

I think things like emblazoning "In God We Trust" on all manner of, if you think about it, incompatible or theologically inappropriate items, is a manifestation that at some level, they realize their slacker/scripture cherry picking approach to a religion that is OBVIOUSLY not tolerant of that approach in it's sacred writings, and that they are trying oh so hard, to compensate in easy (but stupid) ways to salve their conscience and hopefully deflect God's wrath away from their craven attempts at proper fealty and obedience to the(ir) Lord, that they feel compelled to engage in this dog and pony show bullshit and aggravate not only God, but the rest of us that realize just what, and why, they are doing it.

I don't know about US justice, TRS. I speak from my knowledge about portuguese cops, that is all. I admit my ignorance about US cops.

The reference to God was not a total ban, however, it is getting out of control, these morons who insist on plastering it on everything don't seem to understand the long term damage to neutral government it can become. If these same government vehicles said "In Allah We Trust" these same Christians would rightfully be bitching. There is no government neutrality in the Middle East, they are not learning the lessons of history and it is staring them right in the face.

Even if you got rid of every non Christian in America and only had different sects of Christianity, you'd still have that competition between sub sects as to which version of the Christian god we should trust.
