I don't think it's good for any child, in most cases it'll go to one of two extremes depending on the child's personality. It will either force "good behaviour" by eliminating a child's confidence and making them fear authority rather than respect it (there's a difference), or it will teach them violence is ok and make their behaviour worse.

Either way you're fucking up your child's future by making them either a pathetic coward or a violent bully.
