Meaning intelligence can change for reasons other than genetics.

It also seems to have something to with how far south you live in the USA.

I do recall taking different IQ tests over the years and getting very different results each time. For example when I was fourteen or so I took one and got somewhere around 142, and on another one a few years later I got something like 120. So aside from the fact that I don't even know what they measure precisely, I'm not even sure how reliable they are. It also depends on the mood you're in when you take them, I suppose - whether you're really going to focus or not.

Intelligence is both determined by genetics and maleable. Some people are naturally smarter than others in some areas but if they don't do anything with it someone who is weaker by nature in those same areas can train to be a far better expert than the other one.

Did you take internet IQ tests? They aren't real :p

Not internet ones, I don't think. It was a long time ago.

How are they not real, though? Do you mean to say none of them are accurate? How so?

RE: Intelligence.
Intelligence is like being handsome. Some are born handsome, they rarely put work into how they look and still manage to look fine those that do put in work come out as movie stars ,others are born not so handsome but they put in a good amount of work in how they look like and they turn out to look just as handsome, those that don't put in any work come out as ugly ducklings.
Is it genetics? Definitely yes.
Is it Malleable? Definitely yes.

They aren't accurate at all. Real IQ tests are carried out by professionals and not over the internet. I've heard they cost lots of money in some places and they take lots of time. Much longer than a simple IQ test on the internet.

Being handsome is not all there is to being a movie star. And they don't put any further work into it, their crews do.

Terrible, ignorant analogy.

Well, then, I imagine very few of us ever took such "professional" Iq tests.

I did, I had to take the tests as part of a lengthy job application process. I came fifth out of five hundred according to the guy I saw at the interview. Maybe there were a lot of dummies taking the tests though.

If I wanted to talk about movie stars I'd write an essay on movie stars. If I wanted to give a simpler view of intelligence I'd give a general picture of intelligence by providing a simple analogy.
It's becoming rather convincing that you have a 140 IQ right now.
