Right to Die

RE: Right to Die
I'm of the opinion that not only does everyone have a right to die, but it is an obligation. ?

It's not the price of the drug. It's the incentive to use them. Nobody should profit on someone's wish to die. That doesn't mean their expenses shouldn't been covered. But nothing on top of that.
Then the government would have to create and dispense the drug. In America the entire medical community is a for-profit business. Hospitals make money, pharmaceutical companies make money, and insurance companies make money. If they are going to provide this drug, they are going to make money off it.

I find the idea that anyone should be allowed to end their life for any reason to be ludicrous. I imagine most of those that agree with it aren't exactly what we'd call deep thinkers.

That you can't see the irony in your statement only adds to its glory.

You've really outdone yourself this time.

It's a good thing I don't care for your remarks. How about explaining yourself.

You don't care for my remarks, but you want me to explain them anyway? You're on a roll!

Wherein, exactly, lies my "lack of reading comprehension"?

It the part where half the responses literally said what you said, before you said it, and then you disagreed with them citing what they'd already said as the reason for your disagreement Wink

I read the OP and then looked at the poll results. That's what I responded to. Either the OP did a poor job or those surveyed weren't honest.

RE: Right to Die
Interesting, it's 3 edging out 1.

The question in my mind is the following:

You see someone (let's say calmly) about to commit suicide. They're getting ready to jump off a cliff or stab themselves, and you're pretty sure they're serious. You know nothing else about them.

Do you stop them and restrain them, if you are able? It's a matter of personal liberty versus social responsibility. Let's say talking them down isn't an option for simplicity.

My instinct would most likely be to stop them. I don't know if I could stop myself stopping them, even if I rationally thought I should let them go through with it.

18 people voted this : Yes, anyone should be able to end their life for any reason

I responded that no, it's not ok to allow people to kill themselves for any reason.

Where is the lack of reading comprehension?
