One Hopes He Doesn't Want To Visit Drumpf's 'Murrica.

RE: One Hopes He Doesn't Want To Visit Drumpf's 'Murrica.
This reaction to this guy getting elected Mayor is the same bigoted fear our GOP sold when Obama got elected the first time. The day after the election, 2 months before he took his oath, the right was screaming like babies when he hadn't done a damned thing yet. 7 years and counting and we are not a fascist nanny state like the GOP sold.

I don't fear anyone until they give me a reason to fear them. I don't assume guilt by proxy of label. Bad ideas are certainly worth criticism. Pulpit politics is certainly worth putting on a leash. But fighting fear with more fear is no way for my species to live.

He's been linked with extremists.

The real enemy is Islamic extremists. It's disgraceful that the UK has let this happen. I am extremely ashamed of my country right now.

I honestly couldn't give a shit whether you agree with me or not.

To be fair to Bella, no, "extremist" is a word the left uses to allow the right to hide behind pluralism. I love my empathetic left, and while nobody should be presumed guilty before they do anything, this does allow the conversation to stop.

There is NOT one religion religion in the world that does not have competing sub sects.

The "extremists" are still picking up the same holy book as the moderate and liberals of the same religion. Same with any religion. The tea party Drumpf voting LBGT hating right Baptist is still using the same bible as any empathetic left Obama supporting liberal baptist.

The book is the same for both the non violent left and the bigoted violent right. The only difference is the conclusions either side comes to when reading the same books.

It is certainly important to stand up to "extremists". But that still does not change the common book they use that the non violent left uses. OF ANY RELIGION.

So you commit the Fallacy of the Poison Well, eh? People like you make me sick. We have enough haters on this forum; we don't need more.

The right is scared of everything so they have to take away peoples' freedoms. I don't understand why people are so afraid Sadiq. He's qualified as a human rights lawyer; of course he cares about people. Probably just Fascists unhappy that he isn't agreeing to the imperialist agenda.

I've yet to see any evidence that Sadiq is a Wahaabi-Salafi or a Twelver Shia. I'm not going to shit my pants over the new mayor. There's no evidence he currently holds "extremist" views.

I agree, everyone is shitting their pants even before he has put ink to paper on anything. I will always fight pulpit politics, and yes, currently speaking Islam is the most political when it comes to mixing religion and government. But I see tons of hypocrisy in the west about how we tout civil liberties, and we say we protect religious pluralism, but then react like this.

I can tell you right now if our Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison suddenly started acting like the Muslim version of Judge Roy Moore, damned right I'd demand he stopped or get removed from office, or vote him out. But to this day Keith Ellison has not given me any reason whatso ever to think he wants to legislate from the Quran.

It is possible, like I said, to attack bad claims, and criticize and blaspheme ideas of pulpit politics and bad climates regionally wise. But I refuse to assume the guilt of the individual as a starting position. The west even with our secular laws still have attacks by our Christian right which could, if given enough power, destroy our western concepts of common law.

Islam certainly has lots to criticize and blaspheme and ridicule as we rightfully should. But in doing that, I refuse to lose my humanity for the individual in the process of doing such. I will not fear my fellow human as an individual until you give me something to fear.

There are different kinds of believer, as with any religion. It's wrong to presume every brown person is fighting for Sharia. Many in the Ummah are fighting against it because they will be first victims of a brutal theocratic goverment.

For example, Syrians want to come to Europe to escape the brutality. Many say they'll go back and help to rebuild the country they love after the war is over. I hate the fear-mongering. People should be directing their anger at every POTUS who has helped to keep al-Saud in power because they are the ones funding the spread of Fascist ideas in Mosques across the West.

Well, that bad foreign policy is a baton passed down since WW2. Our old money is still stuck on the high of that win and we stupidly think we can replicate through intervention. Korea and Nam were stalemates and we watched Afghanistan's Muslims turn back Russia, supported Sadamn against Iran, only to knock him out.

I am not going to say we never get involved, but we've got to learn a way to use diplomacy and gain a majority consensus and have a plan going in and getting out. Today's modern war isn't a battlefield anymore. But we've already toppled Sadamn and Gadaffi. I doubt toppling Saudi Arabia is going to help much considering that they don't get along with Iran.

I'd rather see them rot from within through the skepticism and bravery of their own citizens.

Just ask Atlas about Saudi. They live there. It's terrible. It sounds like Saudi won't need the Wests help to collapse. Atlas says the Saudis are panicking about the post oil age, and I believe him.

And it certainly doesn't help that there are people on here that aren't willing have their opinions challenged. Would an "extremist" support equal marriage? Supposedly there is all this overwhelming proof Saqid Khan is an extremist but nobody has shown me any proof. Meanwhile the extremest Imam supposedely connected to Sadiq Khan, Suliman Gani , the Imam people are up in arms about, has been photographed smiling with Zac Goldsmith:
