RE: Does god need your help?
god is like a spiritual voltron of sorts i guess the more people who believe in him the more power she/he/it has
the less people believe the weaker it gets.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.

Exactly right. So whether he exists or not makes no difference; because the minions did all the work anyway.

I wonder if any theist will answer this with a simple yes or no. Deists are excluded because they don't claim to be "doing god's work" generally.

If someone rushes in trying to use an analogy only involving humans then they'll also be making my point for me.

Sounds more like Tinkerbell to me...

It would make for an interesting thought experiment: if just for one day every theist in the world stopped trying to speak for God and let God speak for himself. Call it "International STFU And Let God Speak For Himself Day". What would be heard? My guess, the sound of crickets.

Of course god needs help from an insignificant being on a speck of insignificant dust buried in a galaxy of 400 billion stars which is buried in an observable universe of over 500 billion galaxies.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

Big Grin But seriously, it is a very interesting perspective you've got there on the whole phenomenon of religion. If you took out all human influence, what would be left? And even the Bible itself comes from human influence, so that has to go for this experiment. If all believers listened to God and God alone... after all they all claim to have a personal relationship with him so it's not that much of an ask... what would they lose? Human influence is in everything they believe, from the messages they receive to the miracles they perceive. It comes from Christianity 'no man is an island' and it's true... without interpersonal influence, their religion could not exist. Without it, all that's left is their personal perceptions of inner experiences... and anyone who understands psychology and/or neuroscience can see exactly what's going on with things like A/S/K... that it's just the brain doing its thing.

Of course it's brilliant. Rob = god.

However, if Rob keeps forgetting I may have to rethink my belief!
