Atheism does not tell you how someone looks at the world. You can be an atheist and believe any amount of supernatural woo, just not "gods", whatever they are. You are incorrectly generalising.
"Spiritual" is as poorly defined as "gods". I've never heard a sensible definition for what it's meant to be. It's always filled with metaphor. So I have no idea. It seems to be arbitrarily assigning extra meaning to things.
If it makes you feel good and it's not hurting anyone, go for it. But don't confuse what feels good with what is true. Personally I prefer to know what is true, but I'm quite happy to indulge fantasy for pleasure. It's when the line blurs that woo and religion are born. We don't have to agree with your beliefs to be happy that you are happy.
