It's getting uglier by the day

RE: It's getting uglier by the day
I don't read German. So I ask for information from Alex and Abaris and anyone else actually in Germany and Austria. How bad is the right wing backlash? Do they have anything approaching a majority? Is there violence? Are there legitimate concerns about muslim immigrants : not enough houseing, crime, not enoughnwork, too much processing delay.

Because the real problem I see from here is that ambitious young men in enforced idleness, are always dangerous no matter what their nationality or religion. Letting people in but not letting them work is like stockpiling dynamite in a gasoline refinery.

The refugees need to burn the whole thing down.

As I said, attacks by right wing extremists have risen by some 100 percent only this last year. I haven't got the exact numbers, but I seem to remember, it's about 200, 250 percent. Also, as I said in the OP, these attacks range from arson over property damage to inflicting bodily harm.

As for majorities - it's a very real possibility. Our recent presidential elections showed as much. The right winger, a German nationalist and chemtrail conspiracy nut on the side, managed to get nearly 50 percent of the votes. The right wing populist Freedom party, with ties to the Front National, Geert Wilder's party and the German AFD, has something like 30 percent of the votes, according to recent polls. Germany fairs just a little bit better, but the rightwing AFD stands a very good chance of making it into the Bundestag in the next election. The difference being that no other party would form a coalition with them. That's different here. The Conservatives already have a track record of forming a coalition with the extreme right. Between the years 2000 and 2006, years that still keep the courts busy, since there was such an amount of corruption. A former minister of interior affairs already serves a jail sentence. Not because of what he did when he was in office, although the courts investigated these years too, but found too little hard evidence to indict, but because of what he did later, when he was head of the Austrian Conservative delegation at the EU.

There is no real danger. The majority of crimes are either commited by Austrians, mostly murder suicides within families. Property crime on the other hand is firmly in the hand of international gangs from Poland, Hungary or the Balkans. I'm not even sure if I've seen a single refugee. Hard to say, since there are quite a lot foreigners roaming the streets. They don't wear a label sying refugee, after all.

It's fear mongering, fishing in the pond of the disenfranchised. These people, in their vast majority, believe the narrative and don't do the reality check. They're not all Nazis, that's for sure, but they're all looking for easy solutions for their own misery.

I blame that more on the people higher up than immigrants. People fall into a trap of blaming immigrants for "taking all the jobs", instead of focusing their attention to the greedy "rich get richer" fuckers at the top, who either move their business abroad for cheap slave labour or don't pay workers here in Europe enough. Blaming immigrants as a scapegoat is just easy.

I don't like this at all. The far right aren't the people who should be at the front of addressing issues with secularism, but they're gaining popularity in a lot of European countries by co-opting traditionally leftist language of "rights" and "freedoms" to appeal to the working classes. That's how UKIP and The EDL have gained more popularity here in The UK in recent years.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable."

There's a difference between immigrant and refugees. Refugees, as long as they're not naturalised, aren't allowed to work. So, they aren't the ones taking jobs away. Also, the jobs immigrants usually do, wouldn't be done by citizens anyway. Menial tasks with a pittance for pay.

The real job killers are abroad. Low wage countries with next to no workplace regulations and workers rights. The promised lands for international corporations. Others call it the global market.

So, now we're down to death threads on the social media page of the leader of right wing Freedoms party.

The chancellor is threatened with being shot - on the official page of the party leader. Now I'm no big fan of that chancellor, but, as I said, it's getting uglier by the day. It's similar to the USA, I believe, threatening the head of state is a fellony and the services are investigating, but that's not the point. People wouldn't have dared to voice death threats so blatantly just a couple of years back.

"Immigrants taking jobs away" if you put it without qualifiers is a bit of a silly notion anyways - if immigrants come in, the economy grows, there are more workers, but also more consumers. Actually, you get additional workforce and consumers for whose basic education the state didn't even have to pay. If you attack immigrants for taking your job away, you might as well attack newborn babies - with them it is even worse because they are much younger than you and will soon be preferred to you on the job market.

The problem is rather exploitation of immigrants by companies who let them work hard jobs with too little pay - since they are often desperate and willing to do that, that potentially ruins wages.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Hitchens was right, "the parties of God". Jesus vs Mo vs Yahweh, and the fans of all three don't seem to give one fuck that the planet has more than 3 religions on it.
