Of course there are some doomsday apocalyptic-minded party-pooping scientists who say that actually it would cause the oceans to move over the land masses in a horrible and somewhat deadly storm because they're fluids. However the Earth does rotate, we can't really stop it from doing so,and I'm asking the question how many times in a year does it do this? Imagine the earth is revolving around the sun clockwise, which means you are looking down on it from some distance away, and the highest "continent" you can see is Antarctica. Because that's what you're looking down on. You don't move, but you watch the Earth rotate for a year, how many times does it rotate on its axis while you're observing?
