Banning the promotion (discussion) of vaping in all media .... any meetings etc etc .... is a ban of speech/expression, if America doesn't think that is a ban of free speech then America is wrong, however I have many american friends that are not so blinkered ...

No, but if you want to mislead people, try to convince them it's a violation of some important right.

Forgive me for being skeptical of your characterization of the issue. Do you have a link to the actual policy?

I googled for "discussing vaping banned" and all I found were articles discussing the banning of vaping (not the banning of discussions themselves). I too, would like a link to an actual piece of legislation.

This is the EU directive .... it was implemented in the UK on 20-05-2016 ... the Lords have put up a fatal and 3 regret motions that will be heard sometime in June I believe .....

publications that are intended exclusively for professionals in the trade of electronic cigarettes or refill containers
and for publications which are printed and published in third countries, where those publications are not principally
intended for the Union market;
(b) commercial communications on the radio, with the aim or direct or indirect effect of promoting electronic cigarettes
and refill containers, are prohibited;

Well then.... cigarette advertising was already banned, so.... oh no! Freedom of speech infringement!
E-cigs (and similar products) have just been included under the same umbrella as all other tobacco related products.
Stop selling your idiotic view on the subject.

Here, read it: http://ec.europa.eu/health/tobacco/docs/...440_en.pdf
(I didn't read it... I don't smoke... I don't care much... but you may look under page 25 of that PDF)

Compare that with page 9 item (82) of the regulation on other tobacco products:

But..that's all about advertising and paying for shit, where's the "discussion of vaping is banned" thing? And the ads are still fine for those in the industry, as far as I can tell.

Two words, that's all I needed to know you were lying about this. That's basically banning advertising you dolt. Nothing about banning discussion of anything.

Doesn't exist. The only question cropping up from time to time is to ban it at certain locations.

The amount of time you took to consider this shows your opinion was made prior to any evidence .... Advertising includes anything that promotes, but that would be lost on the likes of the Christian minded  Dodgy
