Long winded multi-posts ftw!
To wrap all of this up. If you've been party to a narrative in which usory regulations are crushing the little guy...and the answer to this problem is/might be deregulation (or, in the case of brexit..getting out from under regulations), but the examples you give for the former turned out to be blatant corporate scam of taxpayer money...and the issues that are most important to Joe Citizen (food, houses, wages) are not the place for deregulation as a solution in the case of the latter..... then wouldn't it stand to reason that whoever conveyed this narrative to you was either not in command of facts, or outright lying?
What was the aftereffect of that decision, thusfar? The devaluation of "the little guy"s personal wealth combined with a promise of "stimulus" for larger corporate interests. In the scramble for power after the mixup in your government, were friends of the little guy installed...or did you get advocates for authoritarianism, and collusion of corporate interests with the state? Cui bono?

That the UK had a sweetheart spot. What's a good paper to get UK news out of, in your opinion, btw? The Guardian and The Sun being out.
I'm guessing the Daily Heil with its still continuing support for the BUF and NSDAP.
Sorry about the Guardian/The Sun comparison. It should have been the Guardian and The Daily Heil. Polar opposites. Daily Heil for the extreme right, the guardian for the extreme left.

The guardian does have the benefit of actually containing news and properly researched articles, not just vapid rants that appeal to the lowest common denominator.

I'll give you that, but the comments section on both sides is from one extreme to the other.

Conservative news, liberal news...bring it on, the only thing that bothers me is when an organization fails to back up their partisanship with -actual- journalism. It leaves the impression that their respective points of view are based more on the compounding effect of loons trapped together in an echo chamber than related to anything actually happening "out here" in the real world.

The comments section is entirely different than the news section. Both shouldn't mix. If the news section is reasearched properly you can read conservative as well as liberal papers. You should basically get the same stories. Tabloids certainly don't fall into that category. They're sensationalist and very liberal with the truth.
