The Un-united Kingdom is fucked now
RE: The Un-united Kingdom is fucked now
Anger doesn't have to lead to violence. And yes the world isn't perfect. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try our best to not be violent.

But, in a democracy, you have to accept a vote.

The EU needs serious reform, as does the UN, but you don't pack a hissy fit and walk out.

I think the future of the EU probably largely depends on what happens with the economies of Spain and Italy in the next few years. If they recover and don't require a bailout, I bet that the UK will rejoin the EU. If they don't, Germany won't be able to bail them out on their own and you'll probably see a much looser European confederation in the future.

Peace is always the preferred option.

Rejoining the EU would require the consent of all member states. Never going to happen, they're fed up with us and we're fed up with them. The EU will fucking collapse.

It's easy to say when you aren't being violently oppressed and have a pretty easy life (I don't know whether or not that's the case with you, I'm just saying it.) Large scale riots have accompanied almost every civil rights movement ever. So I think they have had their place. Maybe one day we'll be able to have social change without violence. It's just not the world we live in.

This is way off topic but:
Personally, and this is not me saying that it's what is best for everybody or the world, but..... I think the world is a more interesting place with violence in it. I've been in some very dangerous places in my life and they make for some of the most interesting memories. I don't necessarily hold with the idea that the perfect life is one of comfortable safety. I'd also much rather live in the Ghetto then the Suburbs. I'm not saying that applies to everyone, or there is anything wrong with wanting a totally safe life, but that's not what everybody wants. There is a reason we don't watch movies about people keeping well maintained lawns and going to PTA meetings.

What we observe all over Europe, is a revolution of the disenfranchised. Rightfully so, since they have been left behind after 2008, losing their jobs and livelihoods, whie banks were saved left, right and center. The governments and by proxy, the EU, have initialised austerity programs that again hit workers and ordinary people the most.

These are all valid concerns, and I feel the same backclash in my own life. Which is much worse than it was in the first decade of this millennium. I would love to see all these people unite to push for some productive changes instead of listening to the pied piper on the right. Who, as I said, don't give even less of a shit about what's happening to them than the mainstream politicians. They get their rocks off on some power trip and their nationalist wet dreams, but have zero ideas on how to save the economy, or how to initiate a real reform that isn't build on walls and exclusiveness.

Which is a ridiculous approach, since there are no immigration restrictions for businesses moving to greener pastures, if their particular country doesn't agree with their profits anymore. This isn't the world of grocer Jack, living to the ripe age of 82 anymore, so that the town can eat, if you get my drift.

If not, this is what I meant.

The younger generation stayed in bed and didn't bother, then complained about the result.

But you have said on multiple times that you will enjoy watching it happen.

Civil unrest will happen if the Brexit takes place (it's not assured yet). A few years down the line when people no longer have any worker's rights, no job security and are even poorer. Civil unrest happens when people are hungry and have nothing left to lose. It will be the young that riot.
