From the documentary talking about an attack made by Al Shabab "During the mall attack Muslim lives were spared because the religious beliefs fell in line with the Jihadi assailants. But 67 people including children were killed."
I just want to add that as an atheist I obviously don't believe Islam exists in the way that is a specific worship of a specific God because I don't believe in any gods.
A Muslim to me is anyone who follows the religion/political movement they call Islam and believes they are following the teachings of Muhammad based on their interpretations of what they think Muhammad said.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
