Nudity, Is It Sexist In This Forum?

RE: Nudity, Is It Sexist In This Forum?
I think it raises some pretty interesting questions about what is legal.

On the other hand it's kind of boring just because I don't think many women are dying to show their tits outside of area 69, I don't think many men or women really genuinely care about the issue.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Absolutely no one is asking you to participate in this discussion. That you continue to complain about having a thread that you can but refuse to ignore, is on you.

Great non-answer.

Question: Which rule change would you prefer: That shirtless men be barred, or that women be permitted to be topless?

Ahh, an appeal to popularity. How does that work for you when arguing with a theist?

We will discuss it.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

That's okay. They may not and if it's boring you know the solution for that.

We are an open forum and Tibs ultimately is liable for any lawsuit from some litigious parent who says we subjected their child to lewd content.

As a staff we can discuss making the rules more equitable--I wouldn't dismiss that out of hand. I don't know where everyone stands on it.

I don't think the forum as a whole would be for it.

That "equality" bit is my point. I don't care that female nudity is not allowed. I agree that young posters should not be subjected to nudity but what I don't agree is that men be given a pass.

Here's why:

Men have always been in control of sexuality of both sexes until recently. Men determined what was and was not sexually arousing and what was and was not acceptable for public view. Women's opinions were not even considered and neither were their desires.

Now women are supposed to be equal and we are supposed to in control of our own sexuality and be treated equally and here we are saying it's acceptable for men to still determine what is sexual and what is not by saying "men want to see women's breast as sexual so therefore they must be banned. But men don't see other men's breasts as sexual so that okay to see them. That is wrong.

I am not talking about law that restricts, I know what the law allows and what it doesn't (though this bs has been challenged in court and won for women to mow topless some years ago) what I am asking is for the forum to say "we realize the legal question is or may not be fair in it's allowances so we will be fair in our restrictions. That is the point I want to make.

Thanks for the response.

Men have never determined what is or isn't sexually arousing.

What is the harm in discussing something? Are you so authoritarian that even a discussion about it is too much?

In western society female breasts are generally viewed as more sexual than male breasts.

So to keep in accordance with things like child pornography laws and pornography laws in general this website would be shut down if all of a sudden the owners of this website decided to allow girls under 16 showing their tits or allowed anyone of any age to see girls tits all around the forum.

On the other hand there's no need to not allow male breasts to be shown to be in accordance with the law.

If you're offended by male breasts then you'll just have to skip past them quickly and avoid looking, if you're just coming up with a hypothetical situation in order to complain about things being sexist then you'll be better off complaining to higher powers than this forum about laws that are in place that this forum abides by.

I never stated that I was offended by anything except inequality. Smile
