Truck plowed thru crowd, running over people, then gunmen (?) emerged from truck and started shooting.

75 reported dead now, according to what I just saw on the news. But these are just the initial reports. The news may change a bit once things are sorted out more thoroughly.

And your source for that is? Nothing on that on the French or other european news networks. Just the truck plowing through the crowd and the driver being shot by police.

If I'm not mistaken, those are bullet holes in the windshield, presumably fired by police.

Yes I saw that earlier. I posted that because it seems possible that all of the shots fired were from police - judging by the number and placement it seems that police opened fire whole the driver was still at the wheel and reports that he got out and fired a number of shots may be mistaken.

According to French new networks, all shots have indeed been fired by police. Here's another report from France 2, one of the major national networks.

So you think that this was a specific attack against France because of the day vs just an opportunity to cause terror in any nation where a target rich environment was created. It would not have happened on any other day in France in which a target rich environment was created?
