Bastille Day Horror in Nice

RE: Bastille Day Horror in Nice
Well, B-Day is an obvious target-rich day in France, sooo...."why not". That's what I'd think. If I were messed up like the perp.

No, I'm not special. But if you ask why this is a special day in France and I say think 4th of july, it should be pretty clear why it is special. It's their national celebration day. And apart from drawing a crowd, it's a massive symbol.

I did not say that the day was not special to the French, that was your assumption.

There have been other terror attacks in France not tied to one of their national days. So I gather that you believe that this was directed against France and not just a crowd opportunity.

Of course, if it was a terrorist attack, it was directed against France. Knowing how destabilized the society already is and knowing that Hollande considered revoking the state of emergency, that had been in effect since the last attacks, it's more than justified to think that.

They live and thrive on fear. And striking in France, under the circumstances, on the 14th of july, certainly is no coincidence.

So, educate me further. Why France? Why multiple attacks in France? Why not other European countries? Does France provide the terrorists an easier environment to operate in? Or is France contributing/participating to/in the "war on terror" more than other countries? Or both?

France has been bombing the ever loving fuck out of ISIS. That's why they're a target.

That combined with the fact that France has quite a large border that anybody can get across, is exactly why this happens so much.

And why is France bombing more any any other European country? Ties with Syria?

After the first attack, they sent out an aircraft carrier (If i remember correctly) and have just been bombing since. Nobody else has been so heavily attacked as the french, so nobody else wants to do anything.

They attacked at Brussels and France. Brussels is the seat of the EU and NATO. Both their more or less sworn enemies. France is already destabilized by a strong national party and by a president that is hated by most of the population. In my opinion they're aiming for a divided west, something Le Pen will only be too eager to deliver. If she wins the French elections and France were to leave the EU, the EU is dead. One of it's founding members dropping out would not only be a political but also an economical nightmare.

Mission accomplished if that were to happen.

My opinion, based on what experts say about the possibility of Le Pen winning and taking it from there. Also, striking on the 14th of july in France sends a very strong message of you're not even save on your day of celebration. A day when France is traditionally flexing it's muscles with a grand military parade at Paris.
