I posted my risotto recipe right above. You have to make it boil, with the right amount of water, which is about a 4th of the added amount of rice. When it boils, you have to draw the pot to a different hotplate which you have preheated at the lowest setting. Maybe one or two notches above the lowest settings, depending on the amount of water. You cover the pot with a lid and let it stew till all the water has evaporated, which is usually one or two hours. So start early and have patience.
Buy it ready cooked and microwave it.

Yeap, and that's basically a pilaf except the water is stock.

whipped up a big batch of maidrites yesterday since I'm super busy this weekend and don't wanna cook.
recipe:
2 1/4 lb package of Walmart sirloin/hamburger
1 bottle your favorite barbecue sauce (I used kraft brown sugar variety)
1 humongous onion, diced
3 or 4 stalks celery, diced
1 can (small or big) tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
4 medium home grown or farmers market tomatoes, diced
Brown hamburger, ad everything else. Cook down till right consistency, usually takes a couple hours, don't scorch it.
Get the cheap buns, use ice cream scoop with the little flipper doodad to put right amount of filling on each bun
(OK to butter buns and brown a bit)
serve with optional tomato slices, cheese slices, pickles, sliced onion

But make sure, only the water is gone, not the moisture. Stir occasionaly and put a slice of butter on top to add a little bit of creaminess.

I'm doing chicken tacos/bean burritos tonight, with fresh onions and salsa, thanks to a few certain people on here just pimping out the virtues of the taco genre in a very convincing manner. Should be interesting, since I've never done that before.

A pulled-pork sandwich, German potatoes, and jalapeño poppers from It's All Good BBQ, washed down with Topo Chico.
