I'll be honest.

I had a similar attitude when I first entered the thread, until SC told me that BLM procedure was to move to the side for emergency vehicles. Even if I don't agree with their methods of protest, at least they are doing that.

And that's not even exclusively BLM doing it. It's all the civil disobedience groups blocking roads at any given time having done it. Because that's what it is, civil disobedience to make a point, not trying to hurt people.

Again, I may not agree completely with their protest methods, but I can at least respect it. And if any protest group moves out the way for emergency vehicles, then even better.

Do I get piissed off if someone is blocking the road I'm driving on? Yes. Do I make a distinction between the ones doing it? No. Do I in principle agree with some of the things they're protesting? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Do I wish to run them over? Never.

But it's civil disobedience, something we can't live without if we are to move anything in our societies.

I know nothing about BLM but the bolded part demonstrates to me that they're a positive and progressive movement. They're against all forms of bigotry, not just racism. This isn't the black equivalent of "white power!" or any shit like that.
Being anti-transphobia is always a sign of a particularly progressive movement IMO... nowadays there are many people who aren't homophobic but are still prejudiced against trans.

Then why call it 'Black Lives Matter'? Brand recognition?
