If we define asexuality as having no interest in sex whatsoever, yes, you can become an asexual at will. That's not repression. Just because you feel horny all the time and can't help, that doesn't mean everyone is the same as you. This is a claim about psychology, not one about biology. I am a heterosexual male, but I can control my sexual drive better than you can. I know how it sounds, but you're only dismissing it because we're talking about different things here, hence why you confuse what I'm saying with repression and the complete lack of sexual drive as a given.

Repression is when you can't control your sexual feelings, but you wish you could, and you end up simply fighting against your urges and this can have bad side-effects on a pyschological level.

But the ability to focus on the world in a certain way, and gaining a certain elevated mindset, so that you're above your sexual urges and other such feelings is a different thing entirely. That's not celibacy, because celibacy is not a feeling, it's the description of the state of abstaining from sex. So it can be related to celibacy, but it's not it.

Note here, this experience I'm describing isn't about sex at all. Asexuality is simply a side-effect, but I don't think anyone searches out this state of mind in order to get away from themselves and their sexual urges. They do it for the incredible focus that comes with it. You can still have sex when you're experiencing it, but you just stop seeing potential partners as sexual beings, whereas normally you would.

I don't know the terminology for that, but asexuality certainly isn't the best one for it, since it can also describe normally heterosexual types who can turn asexual on a whim.

Can an asexual become a heterosexual at will? I have no idea, that is a good question. Personally, I don't know much about the subject of natural asexuality, if there even is such a thing, so I couldn't really answer that.
