Also, a lack of oxygen in the brain has strongly been correlated with hallucinations and a strong calm, soothing feeling. And as you described in her brain, there was a lack of bloodflow i.e lack of oxygen. I doubt very much that they can see if there is no activity at all in the brain. And if there was a way, you've still not responded on how you know she experienced it while there was no activity in the brain.
Here's one source, you can continue the search. I've discussed this before not going to waste my time with it again :V

By this point, everyone probably hopes for your sake that you are just trolling. I'm not asking you for respect, but I do hope you can come up with more creative ad hominems while we get to know each other
Sciency-word salad will not fly here. Do you know one of the members you have been trying to debate with in this thread is an actual physicist, and could probably eat you for breakfast?

And all the pretty girls who can't afford clothes ... where do they go after my laptop dies?
Love the poetic metaphor!
In the case of reality, the universe itself would the operating system and you are the answerer to the Call of Duty or the dancing naked lady.
Consciousness only requires a few basic forces of the universe to operate (mainly space and electromagnetism), a physical body made of atoms gives it the opportunity to localize in time and space to create 4d growth patterns through time and experience the 5d fruits or deficits of that growth.

On that basis, my laptop's naked ladies are conscious.
This somehow makes them more erotic. But, sadly, they are 2d shadows on a 3d wall.
That we are 4d shadows on a 5d wall is an intriguing assertion, I look forward to being persuaded.

I don't believe in an afterlife because it's just an idea pulled out of thin air and there's no evidence in its favor. It's just wishful thinking and makes no sense.

Believers usually counter it by saying that they basically persue ideals of love and unity, so even if their are wrong, their fake idealistic goal are still better then average egoistical life of atheists.
So, if they are wrong, nothing bad happens if they were unnaturally caring or fearful of God, its still a noble life. If they were right, they become Gods "little angels". They position is much bitter or harder to live by, but its a win anyway.

Pascal's wager? No thanks, I don't fear nonsense and don't waste my time on nonsense.

After listening to a few serious believers, I cant say that their attempts to live their life in a more caring or loving manner is stupid, even if its under the guidance of imaginary sky daddy who "motivates" them trough holy scripture.

Yet another service we provide. Though I'm pretty sure Roz was referring to your application of pascal's wager, which is nonsense regardless of what your opinion of religious (or non-religious) motivations and outcomes may be. Is the inability to form a cogent thought or follow a conversation regarding the same an effect of living that "noble life"?

When we die, that system is irreparably disrupted and ceases to function. Therefore our mind ends when the brain is disrupted at death.
There are many clinical reports of NDE consciousness after brain death.
http://www.near-death.com/science/eviden...-dead.html
If they occurred after brain death, then they would be death experiences. The truth is that some of them correlate with an apparent absence of brain function. I say apparent because it's not clear what brain function remains after loss of blood flow, which only occurs in a subset of NDEs. Experiments in rats show that there is a burst of activity immediately following disruption of blood flow. Could this be when the NDE is generated? You don't know because as has been pointed out, it's not clear when the NDE activity actually occurs.
Regardless, the handful of veridical NDEs do raise some interesting questions, but those questions aren't definitively answered by "consciousness after brain death." That's more interpretation than inference. I will also point out that 1/3 of all NDEs appear to occur in people not experiencing any life threatening situation. So what appears is a common experience that is in some way related to brain function or the lack of it. Science is in the business of taking unexplained order and discovering the underlying cause of that order. As of yet, NDEs are simply unexplained phenomena.
