I used to be scared to drive further away from where I lived than about half an hour. I was raised in a rather sheltered way.
My first breakthrough was going to meet a girl from online dating, who was about an hour and a half away. Big step for me.
My second was going to meet another girl from online dating, several hours away.
Now I'm not bothered by it at all, but sadly I'm now limited by illness as to how far I can go.

I'm now un-chicken enough to admit I have fetishes that may or may not place me in the borderline profile list. It's ok. Anyone who could be afraid of me would be no fun anyway.

I'm now un-chicken enough to accept that I can only usefully define what is "real" in relative terms. I'm not scared of absurdism. I embrace it. I would have struggled with such an idea earlier in life.
I also abandoned my dogma with regard to space/time.

I used to be pretty chicken about giving compliments to people, like just nice things to friends, because i was worried they'd get misconstrued and then cause problems
