I thought of this while driving home yesterday from helping my son move.  I passed a church with this on it's sign -

Another of my favorites was a switch plate I saw in a kids room once.  It said "Jesus's Love is Cool."
Of course, the poster boy for cool youth ministers is "Pastor Dave" from That 70's Show . . .   ("Rock on Kids!")

Not really an example of religion trying to be "cool" but there is the ubiquitous bumper sticker that calls out us limp-wristed, effeminate skeptics: "Real Men Love Jesus". Every time I see it, I nearly choke because of laughing while vomiting in my mouth.
